New Pattern Release: M4M Fiona

Nicole Seafolk

Ya’ll it is finally officially Spring! Even if it is snowing outside still here, the calendar says spring and that is all I need to start transitioning my wardrobe from turtlenecks and sweaters to cardigans and tank tops. The two newest additions to my tank top family are both made from the just released Made for Mermaids Mama Fiona Pattern and I am so in love with their unique shape and detailing!

Fiona is another fully loaded pattern from M4M with multiple sleeve and hemline options but I ended up forgoing many of them to make two identical tanks, whoops!

The first one I made is out of a gloriously perfect purple striped DBP from Bow Button Fabrics on Etsy. I have used this fabric before and love it! It hems so easily and has a nice think texture that I truly appreciate.

But what I love most about Fiona, especially the tank option, is the way the neckline is cut in leaving a completely open shoulder! I am always self conscious of my arms in tank tops but the angle that this comes in at is super slimming and visually distracting from any extra fluffy bits around my arms. Amazing!

The tank option for Fiona has a slightly curved hemline that is flattering and subtle but adds a little extra dimension to the otherwise simple design. It also has the added benefit of making it much easier to tuck in the tank or shirt!

My second Fiona was also out of DBP but this time from Sew So English Fabrics last summer and although I love the finished product this DBP was not nearly as nice to sew with as the Purple DBP. It doesn’t have as much recovery which means the neckband ends up looking a bit larger/stretched than it is intended to. It’s still cute though so I am calling it a win!

The pattern will be n sale for j
