I checked another thing off of my sewing bucket list last week, a romper! I have only worn a romper once to twice and each time hated the whole outfit for it’s awful fit.. When I saw Made for Mermaids was releasing a new pattern, the Women’s Seirra and that the pattern came with both a romper and a dress option I knew I just had to try it!
So I worked up my courage, measured my trunk girth (which is such an unfortunate phrase), and sewed myself my first ever me made romper!
Look how cute and trendy!!! The romper I made features the shorter of the two included inseams, side cutouts to show even more skin, and flutter sleeves to add a little bit of cute to the sexy!
Unlike a lot of patterns, the sierra top isn’t cut on a fold but in two pieces with a seam down the middle which means its perfect for using odd cuts of fabric and being able to strategically place prints. It also gives the ability to have a much sharper V neck than a top cut on the fold would have. The fabric was a DBP from #bowbuttonfabrics on ETSY.
And then because I am a creature of habit, I made a dress version of the Sierra too of course! The dress is a mini length with the flutter sleeves again and is made up in a DBP from Knitpop! I LOVE how it turned out in a solid! It is so classic and stunning, a perfect garden party dress.
I chose to do a full bodice with no cut outs for this one so I could wear it to work as well and it’s just as stunning without cut outs as it is with!
Sierra is on a new release sale for the rest of the week so be sure to pick up your copy from the Made for Mermaids website ASAP!
