Howdy!
DO YOU LOVE PRETTY THINGS
AS MUCH AS I DO?
I'm Nicki, a self taught sewist who started out sewing clothing for myself just one month before my college graduation in November of 2016. At first sewing was just an outlet to help me think about something other than finals but it quickly became a passion!

Over the next year I learned all I could through sewing blogs, YouTube, Instagram, and through trying (with varying degrees of success) hundreds of patterns, most of which came from indie pattern companies. I was hooked.
THANKS FOR GIVING ME A REASON
TO HOARD FABRIC!
I originally learned to sew when I was pretty young but fell away from it while I was in college. When I hauled my basic singer sewing machine out of my parents basement and into my tiny off campus apartment, grabbed some cheap jersey knit, and made my first ever piece of clothing. My world changed. Now I make three to four new garments every week, sewing both for myself and others, and love every minute of it.

In late 2019 I decided to make the jump into selling handmade items after being asked time and time again by friends to buy one of my signature bags which was the start of Sew Uprising Handmade.
As Sew Uprising Handmade begins to take off (and take up more and more of my time!) my apparel sewing efforts have definitely slowed down but they certainly aren't stopping! So be sure to check back regularly to see what I have made and don't forget to join the SU email list to stay in touch!
